2004 New Directions Cello Festival

The 10th annual New Directions Cello Festival took place June 25-27, 2004 at Lawrence University in Appleton Wisconsin.

For our 10th anniversary, we pulled out all the stops. We invited some of the most amazing talents in non-classical music to come and help us celebrate a decade of bringing together cellists in the common search for new definitions of what it means to be a cellist in our times.

* Rushad Eggleston (NY) www.rushadeggleston.com active in Boston and New York with his own bands (like the Wild Band of Snee) as well as performing with Darol Anger and Grammy nominated “Fiddlers Four” among others.

* Martha Colby (NY) www.marthacolby.com plays with a wide variety of bands and accompanies lots of singers

* Dimos Goudaroulis (Brazil) No web site at this point. A Greek cellist who has been based in Brazil for many years. Dimos plays often in Europe and in South and North America in classical, jazz, Latin and experimental groups.
